Carolyn
grew up in rural Nebraska. It was there on the farms near Clarkson and
in the small community of Platte Center that she learned to appreciate
the quiet, slow pace and the rich zest of life.
Carolyn is well
known for her specialty of scratchboard animals and people. She has
provided demonstrations at schools and holds workshops for high school
students as well as adults.
Although she considers
herself a realist at heart, Carolyn is experienced in all media types
and is ready to conquer any new challenge that may come her way. Her
wide range of art styles will take you from animals to still life, from
portraits to landscape, and from Contemporary to Abstract.
Carolyn received
her degree in commercial art form the Omaha Art School, where she developed
her love for scratchboard. Early in her career, Carolyn designed labels
and worked with Walter LaHue, a freelance commercial artist.
Carolyn's artwork
is on permanent exhibit at the Passageway Gallery in the Old Market.
She also exhibits at the All Creatures Veterinary Clinic, and in her
home studio at 8070 Gold St.
ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"My artwork reflects the very best in my life. I want it to
be pleasing to your eye. It should excite careful attention, be impressive
and leave you with a very warm-hearted feeling every time you look at
it."
