Born in Columbus, Wisconsin to a proud Scottish and German family, Bonnie Rodgers moved thirteen times as a child and traveled for an additional 24 years after marrying into the military. Settling in Papillion, Nebraska in 1983 she began a long study of art. She Received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1998 and continued to pursue her studies with world-renowned and national artists such as George "Papa" Tutt in acrylics: Charles Rogers in oil, Patsy Smith in Mixed Media, Sheila Parsons in watercolor, Rose Edin in watercolor, George Kountoupis in oils, and Karlyn Holmes on the mechanics of being professional artist.

"Inspiration for my paintings come from many directions, exploring thoughts and emotions, dreaming, a line from a story or poem, a part of a
conversation, something that strikes me as I observe situations, society, or images. Sketching and journaling helps me to incorporate more meaning into my work. I believe that the most powerful and profound inspiration comes from the simplest things. It is important for me to find something extraordinary within the ordinary context of my life."

Bonnie Rodgers has won numerous regional and national awards including: Second Place at the National American Mothers exhibition, First Place and Honorable mentions in the 2002 Silver Palette Show, and the Opal Parmentor Fellowship Award 2001. She is represented by the Noyes Gallery located in Lincoln Nebraska.
