I have loved art
in all its forms since I was a child. I first became interested in art
at the age of 6 when the elementary school I attended started bringing
in a professional art teacher once a week to teach us. From that point
on I continually took art in school and decided that I wanted to have
a career in it.
During my school
years I began to try my hand at every type of art available to me. Whether
it was Paper Mache or Bronze Casting, Plaster or Clay, Watercolor or
Oil. I even did some plastic sculpting and a bit of photography in High
School.
For College I took
art classes at Bellevue University before going to UTI to get my degree
in Commercial Art. This was were I developed my skill at Ink and Colored
Pencil as well as Computer Generated Art.
Afterward, I went
to work for a local newspaper called The Catholic Voice, where I have
worked as a Graphic Designer for the last 6½ years. During which
time I once again went back to school to earn my Associates Degree in
Graphic Design. I have been lucky enough to win awards for my ad designs
on both a state level and national level for the last five years running.
I continue to freelance
as a Graphic Designer something I have done for the last 7 years. Although,
I still like to sketch, paint and sculpt working in all mediums that
I can, during my free time. I find it relaxing and enjoyable.
