Martie is a former president of the Bellevue Artists' Association. She is a Fine Arts graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her award-winning work has been exhibited at the Governor's Mansion and the Museum of Nebraska Art in Kearney. She has also exhibited nationally with the National Collage Society. Martie is a Golden Palette Award recipient.

New Work:

I just participated in the Metro Area Transit Benchmarks project. My bench is at 106th and Fort. AT LAST! -- a sculpture you're allowed to touch!

I have been exhibiting with the National Collage Society for three years. My latest award is from their annual Postcard Show, now on display at the Cork Gallery in Lincoln Center June 2-28.

Look for my entry in the Quantum Leap show sponsored by the Nebraska Womens Caucus for Art, August 4-28 at the Haydon Gallery, Lincoln. The opening reception will be held August 5.

Some of my small plein air paintings are on exhibit at the Against the Wall Gallery, 6220 Havelock in Lincoln.

Artist's Statement:

"I am always trying to capture the essence of a fleeting moment. Color, line and texture are most important. As I pursue a more personal vision, I find myself experimenting with collaged images, paint that is flowed, spattered or layered. I do not confine myself to abstract or figurative imagery but move back and forth between them. I have a sense that what I am seeking is somewhere in that in-between place."
